Tate rushed for 2,341 yards and 42 touchdowns during his senior season. Defensively, he had 146 tackles with nine sacks, 29 tackles for a loss. He had five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries and intercepted a pass returned for a touchdown.
The versatile athlete was honored for his work on both sides of the ball. He was named to the ASWA Super 12, First Team All-State (LB) and 1A Lineman of the Year. The senior was also honored by The Tuscaloosa News as part of their Super 11 and 1A Player of the Year, Birmingham News All-State (all class) First Team (RB).
