2008 Ricks rushed for 2,033 yards and 27 touchdowns during his senior season. He was named Times Daily 1A-3A Player of the Year, ASWA First Team 3A All State RB, Birmingham News All-State Second Team (all class).
The junior had 155 carries for 1,453 yards and 20 touchdowns, one reception for 39 yards and one touchdown, five interceptions. The numbers could have been bigger, shared backfield time with a 1,011 yard rusher and a 924 yard rusher.
