| Abernathy has good speed for his size and very good quickness. He can run with power, surprising elusiveness and very good athleticism. Abernathy hits the hole hard and is best between the tackles, at times running with great authority. He also shows good hands out of the backfield and is very dangerous in space, showing ability to run away from the defense. |

Abernathy rushed for 1,345 yards and 16 touchdowns after missing almost half the regular senior season due to injury.
Even with the lost time Abernathy garnered ASWA 5A All-State First Team honors at running back and Times Daily All-Area. ScoutSouth.com Star of Alabama.
Career thru Junior Season: Abernathy recorded 455 rushing attempts for 3,147 yards and 36 touchdowns. Abernathy also has 166 receptions for 1,934 yards and 24 touchdowns.
