| Harris plays the run well, can rush the passer and also excels in pass coverage. He can also put his hand down and get after the quarterback. Harris has good size, speed and sees the field well. He plays with discipline and patience and seems to diagnose the play quickly. Harris is tough against the run and sheds blockers with ease. He tackles well. Against the pass he seems comfortable in coverage, showing good vision, and anticipation. |
| Biography: |
Harris had 145 tackles his senior season (97 solo), 16 tackles for loss, three pass break-ups, 20 quarterback pressures, four caused fumbles, three recovered fumbles. Harris also returned one fumble for a touchdown and scored on an interception return.
2007 Awards: ASWA First Team All-State and Super 12. Under-Armour All-Star game Orlando. Finalist for Alabama's Mr. Football, Orlando Sentinel All-Southern Team Alabama Linebacker, Parade Magazine All American Team 2007, AJC Super Southern 100 LB.
Jerrell Harris finished his junior season with 130 tackles, three interceptions and two sacks.
Harris was awarded first team All-State honors by ASWA for his play on the defensive line for his 2006 junior season.
Harris: "I'm versatile and have a nose for the football. I'm also very aggressive and can find my way to the ball. I never give up. I still want to get better at taking on blocks and hand placement and technique."
