Playmakers were the big difference in last week's Class 3A contests. Read to see who made the list of 'Stars of Alabama.' presents Stars of Alabama:

Josh Dewrell
6-0, 175 pounds
Junior Quarterback
Straughn High School

Dewrell ran for 79 yards on 16 carries and completed one pass on one attempt for 15 yards. The junior kicked four extra points in the 28-6 win over Luverne. Straughn clinched the Class 3A Region 1 championship.

Josh Parker
6-0, 175 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Pike County High School

Parker kicked the game-winning extra point in the 13-12 win over Geneva in the Bulldogs last game of the season. Parker also scored a 21-yard touchdown. Pike County will await Luverne in the first round of the playoffs next week.

Darrius Granger
6-1, 190 pounds
Senior Running Back
Dale County High School

Granger rushed for 116 yards and two touchdowns in his team's first win of the season over Slocomb 19-0. The senior scored on runs of 5 and 8 yards.

Christopher Smith
6-2, 200 pounds
Senior Athlete
Cordova High School

Smith rushed for 110 yards and scored a touchdown in a 39-14 win over West Blocton. The senior helped his team clinch the Class 3A Region 4 title.

Coby Dozier
6-0, 190 pounds

Dozier rushed for 214 yards on 20 carries scoring three touchdowns of 5, 4, and 67 yards in the 28-0 win over Hanceville.

Demario Lanier
6-1, 160 pounds

Gordo High School

Howard had 11 tackles and one sack in the 42-18 win over Aliceville. Latham rushed for 100 yards on 15 carries and scored on a 29-yard run. Lanier added to Gordo's victory by catching a 24-yard touchdown pass and scoring on a five-yard run.

Justin Hawkins
5-10, 160 pounds

Susan Moore High School

Hawkins rushed for 134 yards on four carries scoring two touchdowns in the 51-20 win over Crossville. He completed 13-of-15 pass attempts for 114 yards and two touchdowns.

Kyle Garmon
5-11, 170 pounds

Toby Pee
5-9, 140 pounds

Sardis High School

Garmon totaled 257 yards and three total touchdowns as Sardis defeated Pisgah 26-10. The senior quarterback completed 18-of-29 pass attempts for 161 yards and one touchdown. He also rushed 96 yards and two touchdowns. Pee rushed for 112 yards on eight carries and caught four passes for 48 yards and one touchdown.

Jordan Matthews
6-2, 185 pounds
Senior Athlete
Madison Academy

Matthews played a significant role in his team's 21-12 victory over Colbert County. The senior rushed for 121 yards on six carries scoring twice and returned an interception for a touchdown. Madison Academy is 9-0 on the season and Region 8 Champions.

Maye rushed for 110 yards on 10 carries scoring a 29-yard touchdown in the team's 40-14 win over Choctaw County. Herbert carried the ball only six times for 49 yards, but scored three touchdown on runs of 13, 1, and 5 yards. Jackson scored on both a 33-yard run and a 37-yard reception. T.R. Miller is the second seed in Region 1 behind Straughn. They travel to East Brewton to play W.S. Neal this week.

Tarrant High School

Powell had five receptions for 115 yards in the 9-7 loss to Leeds.

Bud Coleman
5-9, 180 pounds

Steven Holloway
6-2, 190 pounds
Senior Linebacker
Hamilton High School

Coleman rushed for 128 yards on 18 carries and three touchdown runs of 9, 11, and 18 yards. He also added a 2-point conversion in the 29-16 win over Vinemont. Holloway made 12 tackles on defense to help his team to back-to-back region championships.

Elkmont High School

Baker scored four touchdowns rushing for 167 yards on 24 carries in the team's 56-20 win over Lauderdale County. Brazeal passed for 287 yards as his team ended the night with 524 yards of total offense. Glass had eight receptions for 122 yards. Recommended Stories
