Ralston Turner is headed to the SEC. He made his collegiate decision shortly after a visit this past weekend.

Ralston Turner wanted to get his recruitment out of the way, so late Monday night he did just that.

A standout at Muscle Shoals (Ala.) High, Turner had plenty of collegiate options, but he opted for Trent Johnson and LSU.

"It's like a big weight lifted off my chest," Turner told the Times Daily. "I feel like now I can get back and focus on being a kid again. It brings a smile to my face just thinking about it."

Turner, a 6-foot-5 wing, also considered Georgia, Butler, Notre Dame and Alabama. His visit to LSU this past weekend played into his decision.

"I went down there last weekend, went to the football game, met with the staff," Turner told the newspaper. "It felt like it was the right way to go. I felt like coach Johnson had my best interest in mind when I went down there. I felt close to all the coaches that recruited me, but especially coach Johnson."

Turner is the Tigers third commitment in the 2010 recruiting class. He joins four-star prospect Matt Derenbecker and Jackson (Miss.) Province standout Jalen Courtney.

The three-star prospect averaged 21 points and nine rebounds a game during his junior season.
