North Jackson quarterback Will Richard had another big night, completing 16-of-21 passes for 238 yards and four touchdowns. Richard has now thrown for at least 4 TDs in all three games, tossing five in the opener against 5A rival Scottsboro. He has completed 36-of-49 passes in three games for 614 yards and 13 touchdowns, only two interceptions, hitting 73.5-percent of his passes.
The fourth ranked North Jackson Chiefs moved to 3-0 for the season Friday night, defeating the DAR Patriots 41-6 in Grant, Ala.
Jovani Taylor
and
Montel Hale
both scored three touchdowns to lead the Chiefs' attack as the visitors ran their Region 7 record to 2-0.
North Jackson struck quick and often in the early stages of the game and led 35-6 at the half. After scoring another touchdown early in the third quarter, the North Jackson starters gave way to the reserves who finished out the game.
Taylor had catches in the game for 125 yards and three touchdowns, while Montel Hale had six catches for 66 yards and one TD. Hale also ran for 64 yards on 10 carries and scored two touchdowns on the ground.
Montel Hale now has 14 catches for 261 yards and eight touchdowns in three games, averaging 18.6 yards per catch. Jovani Taylor is right behind Hale with 13 receptions for 249 yards and six touchdowns, with a 19.2 yards per-catch average. With a receiving duo like Hale and Taylor, double coverage is not an option.
On defense versus the Patriots, Zack Hammontree was the leader with 11 total tackles, followed by Spencer Wildman with 10 stops. For the season, Hammontree has 25 tackles and a half sack, while Wildman has 21 tackles in three games with a fumble recovery.
North Jackson will host the Columbia Eagles. Kickoff is at 7:00 PM at R.D. Hicks Stadium.
