ScoutSouth.com: Cordova manhandles Dora
Ryan Smith had 138 yards, two touchdowns, a two point conversion and ran for two extra points. Cordova's team total of 418 rushing yards was a huge difference in the game.
Coach Bush said the team put together, "big plays" and in "good shape as long as we stay healthy."
A star emerged in Howton from his first play under center when he claimed the first touchdown in his long run of the night. Howton played wide receiver last season, but the 6-2, 185-pounder looked very comfortable leading the charge against Dora.
Darius Bush (Coach Bush's cousin) had two interceptions for the night. Bush was injured around the 4th game last season, but has his strength back and will hopefully stay strong through the season. He is a 5-9, 150-pound senior.
Other players to watch this season for Cordova include Maleki Harris and Logan Kulick.
Coach Bush thinks Gordo, Adamsville, and Green County are the challenging games this season, but overall in a tough division.
