Marvin Shinn, wide receiver and Tide commitment for the class of 2011, has a big Friday night ahead when 5A Vigor takes on 6A Williamson. Coach Kerry Stevenson will lead his defending state championship team on the road in the first week of high school action.

Vigor went 15-0 in 2008 winning the state championship.

2008: Shinn caught 46 passes for 872 yards and 17 touchdowns.

Jalston Fowler

Vigor's Jalston Fowler, a Tide commitment who will miss the 2009 season due to age eligibility, will support his teammates each week on the sideline. He plans to enroll at the University of Alabama in January.

2008: Fowler had 139 carries for 1,085 yards and 15 touchdowns during his team's 5A championship season. Fowler caught 27 passes for 391 yards scoring once.

Fowler scored three touchdowns and rushed for 169 yards during Vigor's championship win over Russellville 50-30. He was selected 5A All-State first team Athlete by the ASWA.
