Drew Phillips exploded on the recruiting scene after a great junior campaign. He talks about his latest offer and the Fox Sports/Scout.com camp in Tuscaloosa in this latest interview.

Drew Phillips rushed for 2,197 yards as a junior, which came on the heels of a sophomore season where he rushed for more than 1,400 yards. Phillips has proven himself as one of the best running backs in Alabama, and recruiters have taken notice.

"I have written offers from BYU, Wyoming, and Idaho. The only thing I know about Idaho is it is a long way out there," Phillips said from his home in Boaz, Ala.

"I have also had coaches from UAB, Troy, Jacksonville State and SMU tell me to expect an offer from them."

"SMU has been recruiting me pretty hard. Illinois and Louisville have also been staying in touch with me quite a bit. I would say those schools are recruiting me harder than anyone that hasn't offered."

"I have plans to attend camps at Wyoming, BYU and Michigan, but I'm not sure about any others at this time."

Phillips participated in the FoxSports/Scout.com Southeast Elite Camp April 19th in Tuscaloosa, Ala.

"I went down to the Scout.com combine in Tuscaloosa, and I had a lot of fun. I think I did pretty well, but I didn't do my best," he said.

"I was playing basketball Saturday. I shot a three and a guy stepped under me. I landed on his foot and rolled my ankle. I wrapped it, and the trainers at the camp wrapped it for me once I got there, but I couldn't push off on it like I normally can."

Phillips was impressed by a couple of the athletes at the camp.

"I was really impressed with Coty Blanchard. Every ball he threw was right on the money. I'm not sure he missed a throw while I was watching him."

"I was impressed with the running back (Jalston Fowler) that signed with Alabama out of Vigor. He was huge, and he could move to be so big."

What are Phillips immediate plans?

"I am going to get my ankle well before spring practice, and hopefully run some more track. This is my first year to run track, and it seems to be helping my speed. The first time I ever ran the 100, I ran an 11.24. We had a meet last week, and I ran a 10.98, which is close to the time I have been turning in recently.

"I run the 100, 200, 400 and the 4X100 relay. We (Boaz High School) have been doing pretty well this year," Phillips concluded.
