LeFlore's Carlos McCants is the recipient of five scholarship offers, but he eliminated all but one after his official visit last weekend.
"I took my official to Arkansas State, and I loved everything about it," Carlos McCants said from his home in Mobile, Ala.
"The trip was better than I ever imagined. I really liked everything about it. I liked that they put academics before football. I toured the school and met with the Engineering professors before I toured the athletic facilities. I just loved everything about it," an excited McCants stated.
"Once we toured the athletic facilities and talked to the coaches I knew I was going to start my college career at Arkansas State. All the coaches were great, and they talked to me about how they would use me in their offense and things like that."
"We talked about what I would need to do to come in and earn playing time. We discussed workouts, just every aspect. They answered all my questions up front, and honestly," McCants stated.
"I want to get there as soon as possible so I can get in the summer workouts and conditioning. I want to give myself every opportunity to contribute to the team as a freshman."
McCants had an official visit scheduled with Southern Miss this weekend, but his plans have changed.
"I'm done," McCants emphatically stated. "I will call Southern Miss and cancel my official visit. I have seen all I need to see. I can't see myself anywhere other than Arkansas State."
