In the midst of it all Carlos McCants, stayed strong, and his commitment to his teammates never wavered.
McCants and 22 others finished what they had started. McCants not only finished, but he finished strong.
"I had 1,573 all-purpose yards and 11 touchdowns. I caught 46 passes for 978 yards and eight touchdowns. I hardly ever came off the field, but that hasn't stopped recruiters from looking at me," McCants noted.
"I have offers from Southern Miss, South Alabama, Arkansas State, Alabama A&M, and Alabama State.
"I have some schools that have recently started to pick up their recruitment, like Ole Miss, UAB, Mississippi State, Georgia Tech and Kentucky," McCants stated.
McCants discussed each of the coaches recruiting him.
"I have been talking to Coach Blake Anderson at Southern Miss, and he is excited about getting me up there for my official visit. I'm set to visit on January 23rd," McCants said.
"He (Coach Anderson) is also excited about recruiting me. He said I will fit perfectly into their passing offense – everyone likes me as their slot receiver."
"I talk to Coach Maurice Harris, and he says they really like me a lot. Arkansas State likes me as a return man, and as a slot receiver, mainly in the slot position."
"I have talked to Coach Tyson Helton at UAB, Coach Ron Dickerson at Mississippi, and Coach Joker Phillips at Kentucky. All of the coaches I talk to like me as a slot receiver because I have good hands and I run well with the ball after I catch it."
"I would say Southern Miss and Arkansas State are recruiting me harder than anyone else, but the others are starting to heat up some."
Watch for Southern Miss as one of the main players in the race for McCants' signature.
