Tyler Caldwell's recruitment is heating up

Tyler Caldwell is a 6-1, 200-pound quarterback for the Cullman Bearcats, and he has put up huge numbers over the past two seasons. The gunslinger talks about the schools who are beginning to show interest.

“It is finally starting to pick up,” Tyler Caldwell said from his home in Vinemont, (Ala.). “Recruiting has been very slow for me since the beginning of football season, but things have picked up recently.”

“UAB, Troy, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Southern Miss, Army, Samford, JSU and Birmingham Southern are all starting to talk to me. I also hear a lot from the Ivy League schools,” Caldwell noted.

“I visited Samford earlier in the year. I talked to Coach Pat Sullivan. He is a nice guy. I enjoyed talking to him. My coach (Britton) told me Samford had basically told him that I could play for them if I wanted to. I haven’t heard that directly from them, so I’m not sure what that means.”

“I haven’t been to anymore games, or on any other visits. I have been trying to focus on our season. We won our region, and we will play Parker in the opening round of the playoffs."

Caldwell and the Cullman Bearcats recently faced off with Mountain Brook High School, and Caldwell set an AHSAA single game completion record.

“I passed for 368 yards on 42-of-61 attempts, and one touchdown,” Caldwell noted.
