Davin Hawkins talks recruiting

Davin Hawkins is already receiving interest from schools around the country. Hawkins plays safety and wide receiver at Etowah High School, in Attalla, (Ala.). He tells ScoutSouth.com the latest recruiting news.

“I went to camp at Alabama a couple weeks ago, and it was a real good camp,” Davin Hawkins tells us from his home in Attalla, (Ala.).

“It was hot out there, but it was fun. I enjoyed it. I worked at safety and wide receiver. I believe I did pretty well.”

“I got to talk to Coach [Kirby] Smart, and Coach [Bobby] Williams after the camp ended. They said they really liked me, and they wanted me to send them film from this season. They also wanted me to come watch them play this season."

“We went to Ole Miss, and it went real well over there. I liked the facilities. The indoor practice field was very nice. Ole Miss is a good school.”

“I talked to Coach Tyrone Nix, and his brother Derrick Nix. They played at Etowah before going on to college. I also got to speak to Coach [Houston] Nutt while I was there. He was asking me how I liked it at Ole Miss and stuff like that.”

“I worked at safety and corner. We did a lot of one-on-one drills, so it was like playing corner."

“I also went to UAB’s one day camp. It lasted about two hours. It was a pretty good camp. UAB is a good school.”

Although Davin Hawkins is entering his junior year this season, his list of schools showing interest is impressive.

“I am receiving interest from Alabama, Auburn, Southern Miss, Mississippi State, Ole Miss, Stanford, Colorado, Louisville, Florida, Texas, UAB, Central Florida, Miami and Tenessee.”

“I get a lot of mail from all these schools. I can’t say one is recruiting me harder than any of the others, yet,” Hawkins concluded.
