"I still have the one offer from Alabama," Mardrecas Hood said from his home in Reform, (Ala.).
"I call Coach [Joe] Pendry every Friday, and we talk about school and what I've been doing during the week. Me and Coach Pendry have a pretty good relationship," Hood explains.
"Mississippi State came by spring practice the other day and talked to me. They were telling me they were very interested in me coming over there. They wanted to get my transcripts and stuff like that."
Hood is also receiving interest from Auburn, Tennessee and Ole Miss, although it isn't related to football. Hood is also a very talented player on the hardwood, and he may have options at the next level.
"I get letters from those schools pretty often, but I don't have an offer to play basketball at this time," Hood stated.
Hood admits he hasn't been able to take any unofficial visits this spring, but he has been working hard on-and-off the field.
"We play our spring game tomorrow night," he said. "We play Aliceville in the first half and Greensboro the second half."
"We lost about eight starters from last year's team, but we have about 18 returning that either played or started on one side of the ball or the other. We are looking to improve on our record from last year," Mardrecas Hood concluded.
