Four-star commits to Crimson Tide.
Marcel Dareus, Scout.com four-star defensive tackle from Birmingham-Huffman (Ala.), announced his college decision Wednesday at his high school. Dareus has decided to follow his former teammate Andre Smith and roll with the Alabama Crimson Tide. Marcel's brother, Demerius, will join him at the Capstone as well.
It is no secret Alabama hoped to sign an elite defensive line class, and Dareus is the icing on the cake. The Tide coaching staff has landed future defensive linemen in Damian Square, Terrence Cody, Brandon Lewis, Undra Billingsley, Glenn Harbin and post-grad Kerry Murphy.
Marcel Dareus is the best of the bunch. He his blend of size, strength and quickness will give him a chance to begin his career early in Tuscaloosa.
Marcel Dareus recorded 107 tackles, 19.5 sacks and returned a fumble for a touchdown during his senior season. Dareus was recognized by the ASWA All-State honorable mention and made the Press-Register's Elite 18, AJC Super Southern 100 DT.
