Class 4A loses East Limestone, Madison County, Tarrant, Greene County, Monroe County, Escambia County, Greene County, Central Tuscaloosa and Boaz to other classifications. New teams to 4A are Bibb County, Calera, Dallas County, Greensboro, Montgomery Catholic, Anniston, Hokes Bluff and many more. ScoutSouth.com details the changes to the 3A and 4A classifications.



3A Region 1

Bayside Academy

T.R. Miller


Luverne and Bayside Academy move up to 3A from 2A, T.R. Miller from 4A and Cottage Hill is new to the AHSAA. Straughn moves over from Region 2.

Clarke County gets boosted to 4A, Francis Marion, Washington County and Mobile Christian go to 2A. Sumter County moves all the way to Region 4.

3A Region 2

Daleville lands here from 4A and Wicksburg from 2A. Gone are Elba (2A) and Straughn to Region 1.

3A Region 3

Dadeville and Trinity Presbyterian will move here from 4A. Vacating the region are Calera and Catholic (Montgomery) to 4A.

3A Region 4

There are big changes to this region with Greene County and Northside coming from 4A. Sumiton Christian moves in from Region 7 and Sumter County from Region 1. Moving out of Region 4 are Carbon Hill and Winfield moving to Region 6, Greensboro to 4A and Lamar County to 2A.

3A Region 5

White Plains


This region sees a 50-percent turnover. Piedmont, Pleasant Valley and White Plains come over from 2A. Tarrant moves to 3A from 4A. Making room for those are Clay County who goes to 2A and Hokes Bluff, Lincoln and Munford are all moving up to 4A.

3A Region 6

Holly Pond and New Hope are new from Region 7. Brindlee Mountain moves up from 2A. Those three replace Plainview who goes to 4A, Geraldine and West End-Walnut Grove go to 2A.

3A Region 7

Winfield and Carbon Hill move from Region 4. Hamilton enters from 4A and J.B. Pennington from 2A. Out are Holly Pond and New Hope to Region 6, Madison Academy to Region 8 and Sumiton Christian to Region 4.

3A Region 8

Sheffield
West Limestone
West Morgan


Madison Academy comes in from Region 7 and West Morgan from 2A. Clements and Lexington find new homes in 2A.

4A Region 1

W.S. Neal


B.C. Rain and the 5A championship quarterfinalist UMS-Wright make the move from 5A to 4A next year. Clarke County, also a quarterfinalist in 3A will call this home for the next two years. Andalusia moves in from Region 2.

Making room for those teams are Escambia County and Monroe County. They will move to 5A, and those who enjoyed the T.R. Miller and Thomasville region rivalry will find T.R. Miller in 3A now. Southside Selma move to Region 3.

4A Region 2

Elmore County and Holtville move here from Region 3. Montgomery Catholic moves up from 3A. Gone are Andalusia to Region 1, Daleville and Trinity Presbyterian to 3A.

4A Region 3

Southside Selma


And 4A Region 4

Anniston
Central Coosa
Childersburg
Cleburne County

There is not a single team in Region 3 and 4 not making a move in 2008. However, three Region 4 teams make up the basis for this region (Holt, Jemison and Livingston). Bibb County and Dallas County arrive from 5A. Greensboro and Calera from 3A, and Southside Selma rounds out the district with their move from Region 1.

Central-Coosa, Childersburg, Cleburne County and Handley are re-labeled as Region 4. Elmore County moves to Region 2. Holtville and Dadeville move to 3A and Beauregard is elevated to 5A.

Region 4 also adds Anniston from 5A along with 3A teams Lincoln and Munford. Saks slides in from Region 6.

Oak Grove moves to Region 5 and Fayette County to Region 6. The Falcons of Central Tuscaloosa who are undefeated and a favorite for the 4A championship this year will move to 5A. Northside and Greene County will go to 3A.

4A Region 5

West Point


Region 5 will return three teams and move two teams from Region 4, Fayette County and Oak Grove. Haleyville joins the party from Region 8. West End Birmingham who has seen a tough couple of years will drop to 5A along with West Point.

Locust Fork, Oneonta and St. Clair County move to Region 6, Fairview to Region 7 and Tarrant goes to 3A.

4A Region 6

Alexandria
Ashville
Cherokee County
Hokes Bluff
Jacksonville
Locust Fork
Oneonta
St. Clair County


Locust Fork, Oneonta and St. Clair County move from Region 5 and Hokes Bluff from 3A. Boaz has moved to 5A competition. Douglas and Guntersville relocate to Region 7 and Saks to Region 4.

4A Region 7

Douglas and Guntersville move from Region 6, Fairview from Region 5 and Plainview from 3A. Moving is Ardmore and East Lawrence to Region 8. East Limestone and Madison County advance to 5A.

4A Region 8

Deshler
East Lawrence
Lawrence County
Rogers
Wilson


Ardmore and East Lawrence are the only additions, and they move from Region 7. Haleyville stays in 4A and moves to Region 5, but Hamilton has moved to 3A.
