Homecoming fireworks kicked off the night at Pleasant Grove Athletic Complex Friday night as the Pleasant Grove Spartans trounced the West End Lions 35-0. Pleasant Grove's offense brought some fireworks of its own. The Spartans racked up 411 yards on offense, 274 yards just on the ground.

Running back Jamal Jordan led the way on the ground with 122 yards on just eight carries. Running backs Fadarius Duncan and Jamal Bailey both scored twice on the ground.

Senior quarterback Austin Bolton finished his last home game perfect, going 11-11 for 137 yards and a score to tight end, Kedric Murry.

West End never got anything going after their first play from scrimmage when tailback Reginald Taylor scampered 77 yards into Pleasant Grove territory. The Lions finished with 200 yards of total offense, mostly on the ground.

The Spartans shutout effort was led by Alabama commitment, Brandon Lewis. The senior defensive end had six tackles and a sack in only one half of play.
