"I've had a pretty good season, I guess," Hal Bowron said from his home in Mountain Brook (Ala). "I have somewhere around 800-to-850 yards receiving on the season, on 45, or 46 receptions. I think I have five touchdown receptions, but I'm not sure because I haven't kept up with my stats that closely."
Mountain Brook has been on a tear the past few weeks and ScoutSouth.com asked the talented receiver what had made the difference.
"Coach was actually talking to us about that today," Bowron said. "We were talking about our defense and how it has seemed to settle in, and how getting a few playerrs back has helped us in recent weeks."
"Our kicker has returned and that's helped, along with Gholston moving from quarterback to receiver. We got Morgan Ogilvie back at quarterback, and he has made a big difference. He gives us the threat of completing the deep ball, which has opened running lanes for our offense. I think we're playing pretty well right now."
Bowron has also been receiving more than the football, as several schools have ramped up their recruiting efforts.
"I get calls and mail from Navy, Air Force and Vandy," Bowron said. "I am interested in all three schools. Academics will play the biggest role in my decision, and what schools I'm interested in and all three of those schools have great academics."
"I went up to Vandy for their opener. I liked it up there. Their campus was smaller, which I really liked. Everything was very nice."
You can catch Hal Bowron in action Friday as Mountain Brook takes on Carver at Lawson Field, 4:00 PM sharp.
