Mountain Brook's Morgan Ogilvie

Mountain Brook struggled during the first half of the season although showing improvement with the return of their starting quarterback, Morgan Ogilvie. He played a limited role in the 28-21 loss to Vestavia two weeks ago, but he broke out last week as he completed 19-of-23 pass attempts for 269 yards and three touchdowns. Ogilvie discusses this week’s match-up with ScoutSouth.com.
Oak Mountain has looked impressive throughout the 2007 season, but they took a step backwards last week while suffering only their second loss of the season (48-7) at Spain Park. Oak Mountain will look for redemption as they travel to Mountain Brook Friday night.
“We need to play our best game to win,”
Morgan Ogilvie
said from his home in Mountain Brook, (Ala). “Oak Mountain is a scrappy team, and we expect them to play well.”
“We need to win this game to have a chance to make it to the playoffs."
Ogilvie suffered what appeared as a season ending, if not a career ending injury the opening game of the 2007 season. After only four weeks and six days Ogilvie once again suited up and took the field.
The injury was described as a “spiral break to the big bone in his leg” in the season opener, which was surgically repaired. Ogilvie is now carrying a few spare parts in his leg, but he’s just happy to be playing again.
“I never thought I could return this soon,” he said. “I really thought my season was over after my injury.”
He is still considered day-to-day with the incision, and the plate in his leg. He reports the leg, “feels fine.”
“It is a little tender when I get hit on it, but other than that it feels good;” he continued. “I’m just thankful to be playing.”
