Caleb Mitchell Busy Taking Unofficial Visits

Russellville athlete Caleb Mitchell has been busy taking unofficial visits this season. He tells ScoutSouth.com the latest news.

"I went to Arkansas the first week, and I enjoyed it pretty well," Caleb Mitchell said from his home in Russellville, (Ala). "They have a nice stadium, and the fans are good over there."

"Arkansas wants me to come back when they play Auburn, and they want to see some film on me this season. I think they're going to need some defensive backs after this season."

"I went to Vandy the second week, and it was pretty good. They are recruiting me as a safety because they lose their starting safety after the season. I think he's going pro."

"I went to Alabama for the Arkansas game, and it was good. I talked to Coach Cignetti for a while. He told me Coach Saban really likes me and wants me to come to Alabama, but they have already offered three defensive backs and one or two of those guys will have to commit to someone else before I get an offer from Alabama."

"Alabama has always talked about me playing corner for them instead of safety."

"UAB is coming to watch me this week, and I'm sure more scouts will be at the game this week to watch Mike (Abernathy) and those guys from Johnson."

"UAB has been talking to me every week, and they have talked to me about playing on both sides of the ball. The wide receiver coach (Coach Tim Bowens) said they would like to see me in person, and on both offense and defense."

MItchell will lead the Russellville Golden Tigers' defense into tonight's match up with Johnson. Kickoff is 7:00 PM sharp, in Russellville.
