Josh Tatum Talks Recruiting, Camps

Josh Tatum, from Marbury, (Ala.), was invited back to the linemen camp at Alabama, and he tells about the experience. He also talked of other camps on the horizon.

"It went good," Josh Tatum stated of his time in Tuscaloosa. "It was fast paced, high intensity just like everything else we've done at Alabama. I feel like I learned a lot to take home with me. Coach Pendry knows what he's doing. I think he's one of the best offensive line coaches around."

"When we first arrived we were tested, weighed and measured, and then we went and did a lot of drills. Next, we went to the weight room where they showed us a lot of new techniques."

"We went back out and did a lot of pass blocking work, and then that afternoon we worked on pass blocking. If you aren't in shape you had better get to work because everything is fast, and they work hard."

"The fans at Alabama also make a difference. When you go to a spring game, you look up in the stands and the place is packed it's a sight to see. The fans know your name, and they treat you well while you're there. They are always excited about Alabama football."

"I tell you, I believe he (Coach Nick Saban) is going to change recruiting down there. I think he's going to have a lot of people wanting to play football for him, but they can only offer a few scholarships at each position. I'm not going to lie, I would love to get an offer from Alabama, but at this point I'm just looking for an offer from anyone."

"I just want to play football--hopefully in the SEC. I'm going to camp at JSU with a teammate on the 14th. They have offered Zach Peppers a scholarship, and I'm going to go up there with him. We're going to try to blow it up while we're there," Tatum said with a chuckle.

"I'm going out to Arkansas on the 21st, and I'm really looking forward to meeting and working with Coach Markuson. I have never worked out for him, but I think he is one of the better offensive line coaches in the SEC."

"He came out to my school for a visit a while back, and I really liked him. He said he wanted to see me in person, and he also told me he would be watching me this summer and during the fall."

"I'm just going to continue to work hard in the weight room and stay positive. I just want to play football somewhere." source for Alabama high school football.
