Thomasville RB Talks 'Bama Jr. Day

Roya Campbell, running back from Thomasville, (Ala.), will try to improve on his 2006 season that saw him injured for five games. Campbell talked to ScoutSouth.com about some of the schools showing interest.

"LSU and Southern Miss are writing me the most," Roya Campbell said. "Alabama is my favorite."

Campbell visited Tuscaloosa February 24 as he continued, "I visited Alabama for Junior Day. I really enjoyed the campus and everything. We went through the locker room and watched a highlight film. They showed us the student-athlete dorm. We hung out with some of the players."

"My favorite part of the trip was seeing the locker rooms. I talked to the running back coach [Burton Burns] and the tight ends coach [Ron Middleton]."

Campbell only played in seven games in 2006 for the 4A runner-up Thomasville Tigers. He was a force during his time on the field rushing for 784 yards and four touchdowns on 106 carries.

"I want to win a state championship this season," he said. "I really want to help my team get a state championship. We return most of everyone on defense, and we have a good many coming back on offense. I think we are ready."
