"I did real good year last," Lavanda Powe said. "I am an undersized defensive tackle right now, but I think I did well. I expect a lot more this year. I just like to go hard and fight back. I have always been told to go hard and do your best every play. That is what I do."
"I am not going to be able to make it," he said. "I hurt my ankle against Pickens County basketball last weekend. I called Alabama to let them know I will not be able to make because of my injury."
Powe said of his favorites, "I like Auburn and Alabama. I have been to Alabama's campus before, but I haven't been to Auburn or any of the other colleges I have been getting letters from. I really like the Alabama campus. I haven't met the new staff yet. I was planning on doing that this weekend, but my injury ended those plans."
"If I get my ankle back right I want to go to some camps and maybe another Junior Day."
Powe was a standout this season for the Indians on the basketball court as the starting center.
"I consider myself just an all-around sports person. I love playing sports, and I play whenever I can," Powe concluded.
