Buckhorn Defensive Tackle Strong Start

Scout.com three-star defensive tackle Justin Sanders is off to a strong start for the Buckhorn Bucks. Sanders talks about his senior season and his recruitment.

"We are doing pretty good," said Justin Sanders from New Market, (Ala.). "We are 4-1 right now. We lost to Grissom two weeks ago. This week we play at Sparkman."

"I feel real good about the game this week. If we can play like we are suppose to, then we should beat them. I am having a pretty good season. I have 46 tackles, four sacks and five tackles for loss."

Sanders has taken one unofficial visit this season and plans for several more.

"I went to the Auburn-LSU game. I really loved it. I didn't get a chance to talk to any of the players or coaches. I liked the environment and the campus was nice," he said.

"I plan on going to the Alabama-Tennessee game. I am going to the Louisville-West Virginia game as well."

Sanders holds scholarship offers from Clemson, Louisville, Middle Tennessee, South Carolina and Southern Miss. He lists his favorites as South Carolina, Louisville and Auburn.

South Carolina: "It's an SEC school. I like the program, and I like their coach [Steve Spurrier]. I like the team all-around."

Louisville: "I havent been there to visit, but I want to visit real bad. I like the program and the football team."

Auburn: "I like the coaches. I like the football team. I have always wanted to go to a college in Alabama. I want to stay closer to home."

Sanders feels several more schools are on the verge of extending scholarship offers as well.

"I hope Auburn offers me," he said. "I think Memphis might offer. Purdue has talked about offering. I have recently received calls from Tennessee, Memphis, Southern Miss, UAB and Arkansas."

As Sanders stated, Buckhorn travels to Sparkman this week.
