"The offers are starting to come in now," said Elliott McGaskin from Mobile, (Ala.). "Purdue offered me today. I have received offers from Illinois, Louisiana-Lafayette, Louisiana-Monroe, South Carolina, West Virginia, Ole Miss, Clemson, South Florida and Mississippi State. There are a few other ones as well but, I can't remember them."
"I feel like LSU is close to offering me. I have heard they are suppose to be offering sooner or later."
McGaskin is eager to hear from the in-state schools and plenty of time remains before National Signing Day.
When asked the interest level of the in-state schools McGaskin replied, "I really can't tell you why they aren't showing as much interest in me anymore. I was interested in both in-state schools especially Alabama. Alabama has been the offer I have been waiting on."
"Alabama and Auburn have offered Ryan [Williams]. If they offered me I dont know if they could jump back into it. Alabama might have a chance but, they already have a commitment from a strong safety from Pensacola [Chris Lett]. I think I would still have a very strong interest in Alabama if they offered."
LSU-"One of their defensive coaches came out to practice looking at me. He said he didn't have to watch anymore practice after only a few minutes. He said he saw everything he needed to see."
Clemson- "I love the school. I am going to check-out their campus Saturday and Sunday. They are showing a lot of interest in me."
West Virginia-"They are showing a lot of interest in me as well. I love their running game. They have Pat White at quarterback. I think they are going to be a national championship contender."
South Florida- I think it's a pretty city. I would love to go see their campus. I would like to meet their coaches and players."
McGaskin, Williams and offensive lineman teammate Rodney Hudson will travel this weekend to camp at South Carolina and Clemson. They plan to attend Alabama's camp next Wednesday and Thursday. They plan to camp at LSU as well.
