Michigan keeping eye on Jaksic (w/highlights)

One of the top big men in the state of Michigan is Walled Lake Western senior Miroslav Jaksic. Jaksic, enjoying a strong season, talks interest from new schools, Michigan and reiterates his future plans.

Miroslav Jaksic's hard work is paying off. Spending his spring and summer in the gym shooting baskets and in the weight room adding muscle, Jaksic's hours of work put in each day leading up to his senior season at Walled Lake Western has all been worth it. At 6'11, he has the size college coaches are looking for -- but it's not just size. Jaksic has tremendous touch for a big man, long arms, the ability to get up and down the floor, and the skillset to knock down shots on the perimeter.

"Obviously since last year I've gotten a lot better," Jaksic told GoBlueWolverine. "I've always been skilled but I've become a better rebounder this year. One area that I really improved this year is my passing."

Although this is Jaksic's last season at Western, this won't be his last season as a prep athlete. After the season Jaksic plans to reclassify to the class of 2014 and select a prep school, giving him one more year to develop his game and body prior to selecting a college.

Several new schools have begun showing Jaksic interest including Duke and Ohio State. Michigan, enjoying their own success on the court this season, is another school that's been in the gym recently, evaluating and communicating with the Canadian native.

"Coach Beilein was at some of my games and I talked to him once," said Jaksic. "He just told me that they're interested and they wanted to get this process rolling."

Watching Michigan this season and even before that, Jaksic believes the Wolverines style of play is one he could thrive in.

"I'm a guy that could fit in that offense because I'm a stretch four that could shoot the three," said Jaksic. "Obviously everyone knows about Michigan and they're doing well."

Despite recently taking a trip to Northwestern for an unofficial visit, Jaksic plans to put off any other visits for the rest of the season to focus on his own team. But he did say he plans to be up in Ann Arbor at some point this spring.
