"Auburn came in and offered about two weeks ago," said Wilson, a dual-sport athlete who also plays basketball. "Then the head coach called and made it official. Tennessee also came in and offered. They offered the same day Auburn offered. They have never made it official but they said they've offered. Cincinnati also offered. My high school football coach told me about that offer. I was at basketball practice and he came in and told me that they had offered."
Prior to those three offers, Wilson had already received offers from Mississippi State, UAB, Louisville and Alabama State. Of those four, one really stood out.
"Mississippi State has been there, they were my first offer, and I have built a relationship with them," said Wilson. "I have a real good relationship with (MSU wide receivers) Coach Brew (Tim Brewster)."
Of the seven schools that have offered, two stand out above the rest to the talented wide receiver.
"Mississippi State and Auburn are my top two," said Wilson, who played in the Joe Horne Columbus Christmas Invitational basketball tournament in Columbus, Mississippi this past Friday and Saturday.
"The reason those two are my top two is Mississippi State has always been there and I have built a relationship with Tim Brewster, who I know is a great coach. I could see myself there because they have five senior wide receivers who will have left. And I really want to be a part of that.
"Auburn, when Cam Newton was (playing quarterback) there, was number 1 in the country with the offensive yards. And their (new head) coach was there when Cam Newton was there. And they are trying to build a new offense. I basically really want to be a part of that, too."
As of now, he has two official visits scheduled with a third possible.
"My first visit will be January 11th through the 13th when I visit Mississippi State," said Wilson. "I visit Auburn the next weekend. Those two visits are already set. I haven't set up any others. I may visit Tennessee, maybe, but that's it."
