After committing to the Eagles a year ago, when things didn't work out, he wasn't sure if he'd get that opportunity again. He spent this past year getting everything squared away, and now he's thrilled to be a Golden Eagles in January.
He talked about his weekend visit with us this afternoon.
"It went very well," he said. "I had a chance to sit down with Coach Monken several times one on one, and I enjoyed that a lot.
"Everytime I am down there it feels like home. I know I am supposed to be down there. I love the coaching staff they have in, and I know I'll get along well with the coaches that they will bring in."
Perry talked about his impressions of Coach Monken, and they were all positive.
"I can tell he's determined to come in and get the program on the right track," he said. "He's real fired up, enthusiastic, and has a great plan for what he wants to do with the program."
He was also able to spend time with Coach Woz, and also Coach Zo who is still there right now.
Though C.J. Perry has been on campus many times, he still enjoyed the time he spent touring and seeing what his future school has to offer.
"We went to the locker room, training room, and weight room," he said. "After that I went to my host house, Dominique Sullivan, and we played games and just hung out.
"I know a lot of these guys and I know the campus so it wasn't to much new to me, but I just enjoyed being down there."
Perry is on target to enroll in January, dive in to spring practice, and to compete for a starting LB job next season.
