Running Back, 5-8, 155 pounds
Arab
Murphree rushed for 209 yards in the 42-21 win over Albertville. The senior scored on runs of 41, 22 and 67 yards. The Arabian Knights will travel to face Muscle Shoals in the first round of the playoffs next week.
Ben Moore
Running Back, 5-10, 160 pounds
Cullman
Moore rushed for 236 yards on 35 carries scoring on runs of 65, 10 and 5 yards. The senior also tossed two passes for 97 yards with one going for a 63-yard touchdown.
James Wilson
Running Back, 5-10, 170 pounds
Demoplis
Wilson subbed for the Tigers' injured D1 running back DaMarcus James admiralably. The junior rushed for 256 yards on 33 carries scoring two touchdowns in the 20-14 win over Selma.
Josh Appleby
Kicker, 6-3, 215 pounds
Athens-East Limestone
Appleby hit all three extra-point efforts in the 24-21 win over Athens. The junior also kicked the game winning 29-yard field goal with three seconds left in the game. He also averaged 36 yards a punt on three kicks.
Theo Edmonds
Wide Receiver/Running Back, 5-9, 170 pounds
Fairfield
Fairfield lost their starting quarterback two weeks ago, and last week they traveled to take on John Carroll. Edmonds (senior) stepped up to rush for 184 yards including an 80-yard touchdown run to open scoring in the 14-7 win.
Fairfield will have the daunting task of traveling to play 5A reigning champs Demopolis in the first round of the playoffs.
Kyle Crabtree
Quarterback, 5-10, 165 pounds
Fort Payne
Crabtree completed 10-of-13 pass attempts for 128 yards. The senior scored two touchdowns and added another pair on the ground in the 42-0 win over Scottsboro. Fort Payne, the only undefeated 5A team, will host J.O. Johnson next week as the top seed from 5A region 7.
Brandon Silvers
Quarterback, 6-2, 180 pounds
Gulf Shores
Silvers (junior) completed 26-of-39 pass attempts for 353 yards scoring five touchdowns in the 42-21 win over Faith Academy.
Chris Tilley
Wide Receiver, 5-9, 150 pounds
Gulf Shores
Tilley (junior) caught 10 passes for 145 yards and three touchdowns in the win.
Brandon Davis
Wide Receiver, 6-0, 165 pounds
Gulf Shores
Davis (sophomore) contributed 141 yards on nine catches and a touchdown in the win over Faith Academy.
Malcolm Fossett
Running Back, 5-6, 150 pounds
Hartselle
Fossett and his team wrapped up the region title with the 30-27 win over Cullman. The senior rushed for 240 yards on 33 carries scoring on runs of 63, 1 and 5 yards. Hartselle will open the playoffs hosting Pinson Valley.
Dax Gillespie
Defensive Back 5-9, 160 pounds
Hartselle
Gillespie (junior) recovered a fumble in the end zone for a score, and picked up a game-saving interception in the end zone to secure the win.
Jameis Winston
Quarterback, 6-4, 190 pounds
Hueytown
Winston completed 22-of-32 passing attempts for 313 yards and three touchdowns of 35, 17 and 8 yards in the 38-6 win over Woodlawn.
The junior will lead his team against the finally successful Paul Bryant High School. The Golden Gophers are a two seed from their region.
Chris Rabb
Linebacker, 5-9, 175 pounds
Hueytown
Rabb made 13 tackles in the victory. The junior had four tackles for a loss off yards and three sacks in the win.
Marquis Dobbs
Running Back, 5-8, 175 pounds
Morris-Mortimer Jordan
Dobbs rushed for 174 yards on 21 carries. The junior scored three touchdowns of 10, 55 and 5 yards in the 35-14 win over Hayden.
Lorenzo Gray
Running Back, 5-10, 175 pounds
Pinson Valley
Gray rushed for 267 yards on 14 carries in the 34-27 win over Shelby County. The junior rushed for three touchdowns of 67, 2 and 79 yards. Pinson Valley will face a daunting first game challenge in the playoffs when they travel to Hartselle.
Ryan Mason
Linebacker 5-8, 200 pounds
Pleasant Grove
Mason made 14 tackles with two for a loss of yards. The junior's team will host Selma in the first round of the playoffs.
Evan McNeal
Running Back, 5-10, 170 pounds
Columbiana-Shelby County
McNeal rushed for 268 yardson 45 carries. The junior scored two touchdowns on two touchdown passes of 15 and 12 yards. He also tossed a two-point conversion in the 34-27 loss to Pinson Valley.
Trey Cochran-Gill
Quarterback, 5-11, 175 pounds
Tallassee
Cochran-Gill completed 21-of-25 pass attempts for 317 yards against their big rival and region opponent Valley. The senior scored twice on passes of 10 and 20 yards. Cochran-Gill also picked off an Erique Florence pass. Tallassee is the second seed from 5A region 2 and will host Spanish Fort next week.
Carson Roberts
Quarterback, 6-2, 175 pounds
Jasper-Walker
It's hard to imagine a team more well-rounded than the Walker Vikings. The defense is outstanding, and Carson Roberts does a great job week after week. The junior completed 15-of-20 pass attempts for 233 yards and four touchdowns. Roberts also rushed for 88 yards on 11 carries and scored a fifth touchdown in the 49-7 win over Curry.
Jonathan Piteo
Linebacker, 6-2, 185 pounds
Mason Drummond
Linebacker, 6-1, 195 pounds
Jasper-Walker
Piteo and Drummond each had 11 tackles in the win. Drummond also scored a touchdown on offense.
