Running Back, 5-9, 175 pounds
Timmons and his teammates routed Murphy with a 55-27 victory. The senior rushed for 178 yards on 20 carries scoring on four carries of 1, 2, 2, and 10 yards. He also caught a 30-yard touchdown pass. Ironically, Davidson will line up against the only team to defeat them this year, McGill-Toolen, in the first round of the playoffs.
Wide Receiver, 5-11, 170 pounds
Melton reutrned a punt 70 yards in the first quarter to set up a touchdown, and the sophomore also returned a kick 80 yards for a touchdown in the 58-14 win over Northview.
Running Back, 6-1, 210 pounds
Harris rushed for 231 yards on 28 carries to clinch the region championship with a 28-21 decision in overtime from Hewitt-Trussville. The Titans overcame a 14-point deficit in the fourth quarter when the senior scored two of his three touchdowns in the win. Gadsden City will play Huntsville in the first week of the playoffs. Harris has scholarship offers from Florida State, Kentucky, Mississippi State and Tennessee, among others.
Linebacker, 6-0, 235 pounds
Brown made 10 tackles with two for a loss of yards in the 28-21 overtime loss to Gadsden City. The senior also recovered a fumble.
Quarterback, 6-2, 175 pounds
Baggett completed 15-of-18 passing attempts for 229 yards. The junior scored on touchdown passes of 43, 27 and 28 yards in the 50-21 win over Pelham.
Wide Receiver, 6-0, 145 pounds
Ernest (senior) caught six passes for 151 yards and two touchdowns.
Linebacker, 5-6, 145 pounds
Ward (junior) made 13 tackles with two for a loss in the win.
Quarterback, 6-2, 190 pounds
Carter completed 25-of-35 passing attempts for 258 yards. The senior completed a 13-yard touchdown to Jaylon Denson in the 24-3 win over Mountain Brook to secure the 6A region 6 championship.
Wide Receiver 6-3, 195 pounds
Denson (senior) caught 11 passes for 109 yards, and Carter's 13-yard touchdown pass. Denson is a commitment to Auburn. Hoover will host Gardendale in the first round of the playoffs and may prove a worthy opponent for the nationally-ranked team.
Wide Receiver, 6-2, 165 pounds
Fuller (senior) caught 10 passes for 281 yards scoring twice in the 41-29 loss to Austin.
Quarterback, 6-0, 165 pounds
Spain Park has righted the ship impressively and made their way to a playoff spot. This week the super sophomore quarterback completed 15-of -21 passing attempts for 241 yards and touchdowns of 70, 5, 34, and 12 yards.
Wide Receiver, 5-11, 175 pounds
Michael caught four passes for 120 yards. The senior caught three of Mullens' passes of 70, 5 and 34 yards in the 31-13 win over Thompson.
Running Back, 5-11, 190 pounds
Salem rushed for 172 yards on 15 carries in the 35-3 win over Oak Mountain. The junior scored two touchdowns of 68 and 81 yards.
Quarterback, 6-1, 185 pounds
Central Phenix City
Wallace completed eight-of-12 pass attempts for 141 yards. The junior also rushed for 144 yards and scored three times in the Red Devils' 34-7 win over Smiths Station.
Central Phenix City is the second seed out of the tough 6A region 3 and will host Prattville next week in the first round of the playoffs.
