Elba's Michael Lindsey

The smallest classification continues to produce some of the most explosive performances. Here are this week's Class 1A and 2A Stars of Alabama.

Jacob Kennedy
5-9, 155 pounds

Berry High School

Kennedy had 11 carries for 172 yards scoring three touchdowns of 40, 43 and 53 yards in the 46-8 win over South Lamar. The junior converted two 2-point conversions and tossed a touchdown pass. He picked off two passes on defense and returned one for a 36-yard touchdown. Madison made 20 tackles with five for a loss of yards caused two fumbles and recovered a third in the win.

Cornelius Coats
5-5, 125 pounds

Coffeeville High School

Coats rushed for 197 yards and scored touchdowns of 34, 11 and 57 yards in the 34-22 win over St. Luke's.

Nathan Coker
5-9, 165 pounds
Junior Quarterback
Collinsville High School

Coker led his team to a big 30-27 win over Cedar Bluff. The junior passed for 102 yards and two touchdowns and rushed for 68 yards including a 61-yard touchdown in the win.

Kiandric Ward
5-8, 140 pounds
Sophomore Running Back
Fruitdale High School

Ward rushed for 216 yards on XX carries. He scored on 22 and 31 yard touchdowns, ran in a two-point conversion and kicked a 34-yard field goal in the 29-12 win over Marengo.

Rico Lawson
5-8, 150 pounds
Junior Athlete
Geneva County High School

Lawson rushed for 224 yards and three touchdowns in the 30-22 loss to Kinston. The junior made 13 tackles on defense.

Anthony Robinson
5-7, 150 pounds
Sophomore Quarterback/Defensive Back
Linden High School

Robinson picked off a McIntosh pass on defense to begin the game. The sophomore completed 10-of-12 pass attempts for 244 yards including four touchdowns of 56, 82, 29 and 5 yards. He made a clean-sweep rushing for 61 yards on two carries both touchdowns of 60 and 1 yards. He also converted a two-point conversion. The sophomore also returned a punt 67 yards.

Brodie Meeks
5-11, 160 pounds

Bryan Clark
5-7, 170 pounds
Sophomore Linebacker
Lynn High School

Meeks completed 11-of-13 pass attempts for 248 yards in the 27-14 win over Hubbertville. The freshman tossed touchdowns of 25, 70 and 29 yards. He also rushed for 41 yards on 10 carries scoring on a short run. Clark had 13 tackles with one tackle for a loss in the win.

Marlon Page

5-7, 150 pounds

Notasulga High School

Page rushed for 214 yards on 21 carries in the 49-13 win over Talladega County Central. The sophomore recorded seven tackles on defense.

Parrish High School

Harris caught two passes in the 32-24 win over Marion County for 137 yards including a touchdown. Crowe made 15 tackles in the win.

Thomas Horton
6-3, 190 pounds
Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Cleveland High School

Horton caught 10 passes in the 42-41 win over West End, Walnut Grove. He scored two tocuhdowns among his 174 yards of 18 and 41 yards.

Ham Holberg
Junior Kicker
Cottage Hill Christian Academy

The top kicker at the Southern Miss kicking camp scored the game-winning field goal on a 27-yard boot in the 31-28 win over Flomaton.

Desmond Debose
6-3, 170 pounds

Cottonwood High School

Debose rushed for 131 yards on 12 carries and tossed two touchdowns passes of 30 and 42 yards in the 35-9 win over Houston Academy. Dawsey rushed for 132 yards on 11 carries and scored four touchdowns on runs of 84, 7 and another 7-yard run. He also caught Debose's 32-yard touchdown toss. Price made 17 tackles including a sack in the 35-9 win over Houston Academy.

Michael Lindsey
5-10, 175 pounds

Elba High School

Lindsey rushed for 142 yards on nine carries. He scored on runs of 45, 51 and 7 yards. The junior also caught a touchdown pass of 46 yards. He returned an 87-yard interception for a touchdown and made six tackles on defense in the 68-19 win over Highland Home.

Garrett Davis
6-2, 190 pounds
Sophomore Athlete
G.W. Long High School

Although we have to give Coach Scott Horne an assist on this one. Davis' team fair-caught a kick on the 40-yard line with four seconds remaining. After a fair catch a team is allowed to try what is termed a "free kick". Davis placed the ball on a tee (no snap) and boomed the 50-yarder for the 9-6 win over Wicksburg.

Reginald Foster
5-9, 195 pounds

Marcus Jackson
5-11, 195 pounds
Senior Running Back
Goshen High School

Foster rushed for 128 yards including a 79-yard touchdown in the win. He also had an interception on defense.Jackson rushed for 130 yards and scored on runs of 11, 31, 23, and 20 yards. He caught 22-yard touchdown pass and returned a 75-yard kick for a touchdown in the 60-6 win over Calhoun.

William Gartman
5-11, 150 pounds
Junior Quarterback

Sammie Coates
6-2, 180 pounds
Senior Wide Receiver/Defensive Back
Leroy High School

Gartman passed for 245 yards and tossed touchdown passes of 19, 44 and 71 yards in the 45-14 win over Mobile Christian. The Auburn University commitment had nine receptions for 156 yards and caught touchdown passes of 19 and 14 yards in the 45-14 win over Mobile Christian.

Dajun Godwin
6-1, 210 pounds
Senior Linebacker/Tight End
Providence Christian School

Godwin made 16 tackles with one for a loss of yards in the 21-14 win over Barbour County.
