Stars of Alabama 5A-6A

Some of the top college prospects in the state took center stage this week. These are the performances of the Stars of Alabama for week five:

St. Paul's Episcopal School

With Coker's future Florida State coach Dameyune Craig looking on from the sidelenes the senior completed nine-of-16 pass attempts for 178 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for two scores and picked off a Fairhope pass to preserve the 42-40 victory over the 6A power. Huff rushed for 204 yards on 33 carries and scored two touchdowns in the win over Fairhope.

5-8, 160 pounds

Jameis Winston
6-4, 190 pounds Junior Quarterback Hueytown High School

Stewart rushed for 133 yards on 18 carries scoring on touchdown runs of 41 and 28 yards in the 35-28 win over Shades Valley Winston completed 14-of-21 pass attempts for 194 yards scoring with a 6-yard toss in the win.

David Johnson
5-7, 160 pounds

Shades Valley High Shool

Losing the game 35-28 to Hueytown does nothing to diminish Johnson's performance. The junior rushed for 253 yards on 21 carries and scored on runs of 75, 39, and 73 yards.

Cassanova McKinzy
6-2, 215 pounds

Woodlawn High School

The impressive junior made 11 tackles, recovered a fumble and accounted for two sacks in the 35-12 win over Talladega. He was also a perfect five-for-five on his point-after attempts.

Kameron Wood
6-4, 220 pounds
Senior Defensive End
John Carroll High School

Wood made 10 tackles with two tackles behind the line of scrimmage in the 21-7 win over Chelsea. Wood has given a commitment to Ole Miss and has several other scholarship offers.

Ryan Horton
5-8, 185 pounds
Senior Running Back
Athens High School

Horton rushed for 197 yards on 33 carries scoring two touchdowns. He also caught a touchdown pass in the 45-41 win over 6A Austin including the 15-yard game-winning grab from former Austin quarterback Stephen Rivers.

Kaleb Harris
5-11, 180 pounds
Junior Quarterback
Pinson Valley High School

Harris completed 12-of-17 passing attempts for 274 yards scoring three times in the 55-13 win over Springville. The junior scored with three touchdown passes.

Jeremy Johnson
6-4, 185 pounds
Sophomore Quarterback
Carver Montgomery

Carver went up against Coach Rush Propst and Colquitt County. While they didn't come away with the win they played well enough to win. Johnson completed 24-of-29 passing attempts for 274 yards and scored three touchdowns with passes of 1, 56 and 7 yards. He also rushed for a score in the 35-31 loss.

6-0, 160 pounds

Erwin High School

Gilmore completed 11-of-16 passing attempts for 285 yards including touchdowns of 43 and 52 yards in the 28-6 win over Mortimer Jordan.

Kyle Crabtree
5-10, 165 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Fort Payne High School

Crabtree may be the closest thing in Northeast Alabama to Coty Blanchard this season, and his results are similar. He wins football games. The Wildcats trailed a tough Cullman team 9-0 before putting up 36 unaswered points to win the game. The senior rushed for 109 yards on 20 carries scoring a touchdown. He completed eight-of-18 pass attempts for 89 yards and two touchdowns of 30 and 7 yards.

Southside Gadsden

Coker rushed for 193 yards on 17 carries scoring twice on runs of 22 and five yards in the 32-29 win over Shelby County.

Walker High School

In one of the most stunning results of the season thus far, Walker just dismantled Russellville in the first three quarters with a 49-14 lead. The Golden Tigers rallied two more touchdowns for a 49-28 final. Douglas rushed for 157 yards on 11 carries and caught five passes for 102 yards including 35 and 49 yard touchdowns. Roberts completed 13-of-16 pass attempts for 218 yards and two touchdowns. He also scored on a short run in the win. Drummond continued his domination on defense with 14 tackles. He has 72 tackles for the first half of the season.

Smiths Station

Nolin rushed for 158 yards on 14 carries including a 37-yard touchdown. He completed seven-of-13 passing attempts for 89 yards including a 36-yard touchdown in the tightly contested 35-29 win over Eufaula.

Demonte Jett
6-0, 200 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Eufaula High School

The senior rushed for 156 yards on 22 carries with 74 yards passing including a 45 yard touchdown pass in the loss to a tough 6A Smiths Station.

6-2, 205 pounds

6-2, 210 pounds

Oxford High School

Stephens connected on 17-of-22 pass attempts for 293 yards scoring two touchdowns of 72 and 26 yards in the 35-23 win over a highly-ranked Auburn team. Elston caught both of Stephens touchdown passes. Alexander had 15 tackles, six for loss, three sacks and forced a fumble in the big win.

6-2, 175 pounds

Pelham High School

Harris rushed for 198 yards in the 24-15 win over Pleasant Grove on 34 carries. He ran for 22, 25 and 1-yard touchdowns. Pelham High School Haynes was a perfect three for three on his point-after attempts. He averaged 53 yards on his three punts, and he topped it all with a 50-yard field goal in the win.

On the flipside, Ervin caught eight passes for 204 yards and a five-yard touchdown score in the loss. The junior linebacker had 16 tackles in the loss to Pelham.

McArthur rushed for 180 yards on 20 carries scoring touchdowns of 9, 71 and 9 yards in the 33-10 win over Gadsden City.

Jeffrey Milner
6-0, 225 pounds

Vestavia Hills High School

Milner made five tackles with two for a loss of yards and two sacks in the 34-10 win over rival Briarwood Christian.

Derrick Moncrief
6-3, 200 pounds

Prattville High School

Moncrief picked off an Opelika pass in the end zone with less than 18 seconds left in the game to preserve a hard fought win over Opelika 24-21.

The big quarterback completed 21-of-32 pass attempts for 234 yards scoring a touchdown. The Troy commitment led his team to a 26-19 win over Buckhorn.

Edward Aldag
6-0, 165 pounds

Mountain Brook High School

Aldag was perfect on the night throwing six passes all caught with three going for touchdowns of 29, 59 and 30 yards in the 35-0 win over Grissom. The junior managed 167 yards passing on the six completions.

Emmanuel Cooper
6-3, 250 pounds
Senior Defensive Tackle
Spain Park High School

Cooper made six tackles, a sack and returned a 35-yard interception for a touchdown in the team's 28-21 loss to Bob Jones this week. The senior has scholarship offers from Memphis, UAB and VMI.

Jervohnte Riles
6-4, 215 pounds

Bessemer City High School

The Arkansas commitment caught eight passes for 131 yards including a fourth and 20 conversion in the 14-6 loss to Fairfield.

Jacob Thomas
5-7, 160 pounds
Junior Quarterback
Clay-Chalkville High School

Thomas completed 11-of-13 passing attempts for 279 yards and touchdowns of 3 and 14 yards. He also rushed for a score in the 33-6 win over Sparkman.

Carr Tigner
6-4, 190 pounds

Hewitt-Trussville High School

The Minor Tigers had the Huskies down in the fourth quarter by two touchdowns, but Tigner led his team back with 21 unanswered points to finish the game. The junior completed 10-of-19 pass attempts for 137 yards and rushed for 122 yards on 14 carries in the 35-28 win. He scored on a 2-yard run and passed for 25-yard and 30-yard touchdowns in the victory.
