Offense was the name of the game last week. Here are the 3A-4A Stars of Alabama for week four.


Marquis Mayhew
5-11, 185 pounds

6-3, 290 pounds

Aliceville High School

Mayhew rushed for 158 yards on 30 carries in his team's 20-12 win over Sumter County. He scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion in the win. Mayhew has averaged more than 100 yards in each of the first four games this season. Brown has 19 tackles and one sack in the first four games of the season.

6-2, 170 pounds

6-1, 200 pounds

Carbon Hill High School

Young completed 17-of-32 passing attempts for 314 yards including touchdown passes of 51 and 77 yards. He also ran for a 7-yard score. Losing 20-18 with 24 seconds left, the senior lined up and kicked the game-winning 34-yard field goal for a 21-20 win over Holly Pond. Nichols hauled in 11 passes for 266 yards and both of Young's touchdown passes in the win.

Jake Howton
6-3, 205 pounds

5-8, 185 pounds

Cordova High School

Howton rushed for 156 yards on 15 carries. He ran for touchdowns of 5, 15, and 50 yards in the 41-15 win over Winfield. He also completed seven-of-12 pass attempts for 83 yards and another touchdown. Staten rushed for 163 yards on 18 carries scoring two touchdowns on runs of 1 and 75 yards.

Keon Washington
5-10, 140 pounds
Junior Running Back
Gordo High School

Washington rushed for 203 yards on eight carries with touchdowns of 59, 69 and 46 yards. The junior averaged over 25 yards per carry in the 47-7 win over Hale County.

Trey Adcock
5-11, 165 pounds
Senior Running Back
Hokes Bluff High School

Adcock rushed for 60 yards on 15 carries, scored two touchdowns. He caught two passes for 25 yards and kicked a 29-yard field goal in the 30-20 win over Pisgah.

Keston Chatman
5-11, 175 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Marbury High School

Chatman completed seven-of-10 pass attempts for 233 yards and three touchdowns of 17, 80 and 39 yards in the 56-35 win over Beulah.

Jerelle Bailey
5-9, 150 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Pike County High School

Bailey and the Bulldogs faced a tough undefeated opponent in Abbeville last week and came away with the 45-30 victory. Bailey racked up 316 all-purpose yards. He rushed for 158 yards scoring four touchdowns of 6,14, 19 and 17 yards. He completed eight of his 12 pass attempts for another 158 yards and scoring two more touchdowns both for 42 yards.

Myles Mays
5-10, 225 pounds

Alabama Christian School

Mays provided a workman-like performance in his team's 37-36 win over Headland. The senior rushed for 209 yards on 37 carries scoring four touchdowns.

Troymaine Pope
5-9, 140 pounds

Josiah Atkins
6-0, 180 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Anniston High School

Pope rushed for 167 yards scoring four touchdowns including a 75-yard run. He caught three passes for 76 yards including a 64-yard touchdown in the 54-21 win over Springville. Atkins completed seven-of-eight passes for 137 yards and two touchdowns of 22 and 64 yards.

Malvin Anderson
5-8, 160 pounds

Ashford High School

Anderson rushed for 219 yards on 20 carries scoring touchdowns of 57 and 42 yards in the 35-21 win over St. James.

Devaunte Sigler
6-5, 255 pounds
Senior Linebacker/Defensive End
Damian McGaskin
5-9, 160 pounds
Senior Defensive Back
B.C. Rain High School

Sigler made 13 tackles in the 56-12 win over Monroe County. The big senior has an armload full of SEC scholarship offers. McGaskin had three interceptions and three tackles in the win.

5-9, 175 pounds

Jamal Akins
5-7, 170 pounds

Butler High School

Butler put up a valiant effort against Cherokee County, but came up short in the basketball-like score 63-52. Pride caught 14 passes for 206 yards including three touchdowns of 6, 59, and 60 yards in the 63-52 loss to Cherokee County.

Akins completed 15-of-29 pass attempts for 233 yards and three touchdowns of 9, 7, and 59 yards. He rushed for 118 yards on 21 carries scoring on a 35-yard run.

Brett Burgess
5-11, 165 pounds

Kenny Akin
5-10, 170 pounds
Senior Defensive Back
Cherokee County High School

Burgess rushed for 143 yards on 19 carries and scored five touchdowns of 3, 3, 18, 13 and 20 yards. He completed 10-of-14 pass attempts for 108 yards and an 11-yard touchdown in the 63-52 shootout. Akin picked off two passes in the 63-52 win over Butler. He returned one of the picks for a 30-yard touchdown in the win.

Tyler Nero
6-2, 275 pounds
Junior Nose Tackle
Escambia County High School

Nero had six tackles, two sacks, one tackle for a loss and four quarterback hurries in the 60-0 win over W.S. Neal. Coach Mark Heaton says of Nero, "Tyler dominated the line all night. Neal had 40 yards total offense."

Slade Holley
5-9, 165 pounds
Senior Quarterback
Holtville High School

Holley ran the ball four times for 45 yards and scored three touchdowns. He completed four of five pass attempts for 168 yards with an 87-yard touchdown in the 33-7 win over Childersburg. Coach Barry Gibson says of Holley, "Slade accounted for four of our five touchdowns. He ran the offense to perfection in a big region game win."

Tyrell Kinder
5-10, 170 pounds
Senior Defensive Back
Jackson High School

Kinder returned a punt for a 67-yards to set up a short touchdown and he picked off a pass in the surprising lopsided 37-7 win over UMS Wright.

Dillan Campbell
5-10, 220 pounds
Junior Linebacker
Treddie Gray
5-10, 150 pounds
Senior Running Back
Oak Grove High School

Campbell made 18 tackles with four for a loss of yards in the 41-21 win over Good Hope. Gray filled in more than capably for Oak Grove's injured star running back Jim Furlow. The senior rushed for 208 yards on 16 carries scoring a 64-yard touchdown in the win.
