Cottonwood's Dawsey wins the versatility award in win over Providence Christian. The 2A Stars of Alabama for Week Three of the 2010 football season.

Cottonwood High School
Dawsey rushed for 176 yards on six carries scoring touchdowns on 55 and 82 yard runs in his team’s 46-3 win over Providence Christian. He caught three passes for 103 yards including a 62-yard short pass he ran for a touchdown. The senior made five of his seven extra point tries and recorded 10 tackles, recovered a fumble and returned an interception 45 yards for a touchdown from his linebacker position.

Flomaton High School
Dixon completed 8-of-9 passing attempts for 117 yards and three touchdowns in the 55-0 win over J.U. Blackser. His touchdowns passes were 48, 3, and 21 yards.

Thomas rushed for 66 yards on seven carries and caught four passes for 127 yards and a touchdown in his team's 35-27 loss to Randolph County. He also recorded seven tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown. Oliver made 14 tackles, with two for a loss and a pass breakup.

Whigham rushed for 55 yards on 12 carries scoring a touchdown in his team’s 26-7 win over Ariton. He also made an interception on defense. Patterson made 13 tackles in the win while Haynes made eight tackles, two sacks and had a fumble recovery. Milton had five tackles, two pass breakups and an interception in the win.

Haynes rushed for 230 yards on 35 carries scoring three touchdowns of 12, 52, and 3 yards. He recorded 11 tackles and a sack on defense in his team's 28-21 win over Highland Home.

Samson High School
Smith intercepted three passes in the 25-16 win over Zion Chapel. He also caught an 11-yard touchdown pass on offense.

Mayfield rushed for 126 yards on 21 carries in his team’s 35-7 win over Ider. He completed six of his 10 pass attempts for 92 yards. The senior tossed four touchdowns on 12, 12, 8 and 42 yards. He ran for a fifth touchdown on a 2-yard run.

Mayo picked off three passes on defense and completed four of eight passes for 47 yards in the 40-0 win over Cold Springs. He also rushed for 83 yards on five carries and scored on a 17-yard run. Yarbrough rushed for 156 yards on three carries including touchdowns of 62 and 67 yards.

Dawkins rushed for 147 yards on 16 carries and scoring on a nine yard run in the 28-26 win over Houston County. Jones racked up 14 tackles in the win.

Last week’s ScoutSouth.com’s Player of the Week, rushed for 125 yards this week and scored twice on runs of 34 and 9 yards. He caught three passes for 70 yards and scored twice more on grabs of 23 and 38 yards in the Tigers’42-13 win over Calhoun.
Dylan Rice
5-9 165 pounds
Senior Wide Receiver
Phil Campbell High School
Rice caught seven passes for 202 yards and scored two touchdowns in the team’s 48-43 loss to Lamar County.
