Michael Lindsey

Elba faced a new region rival, Goshen, and it was a fight for the victory, 21-19. Michael Lindsey, the junior running back (5-11, 160) rushed for 243 yards on 14 carries and scored two touchdowns of 59 and 89 yards in the win. He also tallied 52 yards on two kick returns in the win.

Coach Scott Rials said of Lindsey, "Michael is a special player. He played (varsity) in eighth grade. In all my years coaching I never started an eighth grader. He had 15 touchdowns that year. We moved him to quarterback the next year, and he had 1,000 yards rushing and passing. Then we moved him to slot receiver. He is just a special player, outstanding." Recommended Stories
